JOINT STATEMENT BY THE AMERICAN KRATOM ASSOCIATION (AKA)
AND THE BOTANTICAL EDUCATION ALLIANCE (BEA)

AKA- Kansas update
Each day, we receive a progress report from our lobbyists in each state where kratom is being threatened. Some are good days and others are more challenging.
Today was one of the good days.
Earlier today, our Kansas lobbying team reported the following:
The Kansas House Health and Human Services Committee amended Senate Bill 282 by removing any reference therein to Kratom.
The bill was passed out of Committee as amended and will now go to the House floor for debate. The date has not yet been set, but is expected in the next two weeks.
If the full House passes the Bill, then it will be sent to the Conference Committee to reconcile the House and Senate versions.
The Conference Committee Report (CCR) will be sent to each house for an up or down vote.
If both houses agree with the CCR, then it will be sent to the Governor’s desk for signature.
While our team has done a tremendous job working with local activists and legislators to remove kratom from the proposed bill, there are still several opportunities for it to be added back in. We must remain active and vigilant in every state where kratom is under attack.
The American Kratom Association is committed to see these legislative session through until the very end.
We will keep you updated throughout the process. THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
The AKA Team
BEA- Tennesee update
The BEA’s mission to keep kratom legal in the state of TN has been its most challenging one to date. With multiple trips to meet and speak directly to state representatives and senators while also testifying before several committees to the benefits and safety of kratom we have made a positive impact. With the aid of our outstanding lobbying team we are set to travel back to TN again next week to take on the next challenge that might finally see kratom be available to all in this wonderful state. All of these efforts, victories, and more could not have been possible without such an engaged and knowledgeable community of supporters that have stood behind us all these years. Thank you to all of you and stay tuned as we take the next step to keep kratom legal in TN once and for all.
