Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb SMEARED kratom, and every one of us was glad to see him finally resign from the FDA.
But Gottlieb has kept up his war on kratom even after getting shown the door, and one of his final acts was to tell every police chief and sheriff in America that kratom is an opioid that is killing people.
That same set of lies has been told to every State Health Department and Board of Pharmacy.
Gottlieb brought the entire power of the FDA down on kratom consumers – and he fought to make every one of us a criminal by adding kratom to Schedule I on the Controlled Substances Act.
But we fought back, and we let the TRUTH ABOUT KRATOM SPEAK LOUDER THAN GOTTLIEB’S LIES!
Four states, Utah, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada all heard the truth and they responded.
But we need more states. We have to do the same thing that happened with medical marijuana and CBD – and that took 10 years — where so many states passed their own laws allowing those products that the FDA had to stand down.
To get this job done, I have set the goal to pass the Kratom Consumer Protection Act in 21 more states in 2020. That would give us a total of 25 states in just two years.
Next Wednesday, October 30th, we start that effort with a Public Hearing on Kratom before the Wisconsin Senate Health Committee.
Dr. Jack Henningfield, Utah Senator Curt Bramble, and AKA’s own Mac Haddow are scheduled to testify.
Wisconsin is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because kratom is banned there.
This will be the start of the biggest state lobbying effort ever undertaken by AKA.

But I have to sign lobbyist contracts, and if I cannot raise $75,000 in the next four days then we will not be able to lock in our goal to pass the Kratom Consumer Protection Act in 21 more states in the next legislative sessions.
Big Money donors from the PhRMA community are pouring money to our opponents and they want to take down the AKA and our efforts.
If their attacks and lies are told without us being there to expose them, then kratom will be banned.
