In case you missed it…

Recently we came across an article on VICE which we had not seen much press on in the Speciosa community. In the article the author Gina Tron describes her personal experience with trying Kratom for the first time. Although she personally did not enjoy her own experience as she says “I drank too much to feel the full effect, and if a little nausea and itching is the worst thing that can happen, the side effect is not too shabby.” She also says that she “could have monitored what I’d consumed a little better. In the past, I’ve made myself sick and dehydrated by drinking too much coffee. The two are pretty comparable.” Although she did not particularly enjoy the experience herself, she recognizes “it’s a helpful tea for people who have issues with pain.” While visiting the Kava bar she had a number of conversations with the local patrons.

“It’s holistic. It’s just a plant. It’s a lot more safe than prescription medication”

“I have ADHD, and the kratom helps me calm down. I’m not on meds for ADHD, but it helps keep me level”

“It’s like coffee without being jittery. You’re more relaxed, and you can focus. It just loosens you up,” he said, noting that he drinks it before work.

It’s people like Gina and their tolerance that will continue to keep Kratom legal. Thanks Gina!
