Rhode Island State Kratom Laws

Rhode Island State Capitol Building. By Kumar Appaiah

Kratom is illegal in the state of Rhode Island.

However, this may change in the future. The American Kratom Association is working to get this state on board with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act. If this Act passes, it will regulate the industry and allow the use of kratom for citizens of Rhode Island.

As of June 2023 House Bill 5530 was introduced to legalize kratom in RI with guide lines.

If you would like to help protect kratom please look into the American Kratom Association. The AKA has organized the American Kratom Protectors. They are a national grassroots organization that will help lead the advocacy efforts as we fight state bans, share correct information about kratom, and push passage of state and federal Kratom Consumer Protection Acts.
