We have important, and thankfully positive, news to share: the Ohio Board of Pharmacy has canceled the emergency meeting originally scheduled for today, Wednesday the 27th, on the proposed kratom Scheduling and ban. This pause is a direct result of working with the Governor’s Office and the overwhelming response from kratom advocates like you. Your swift action in contacting the Board of Pharmacy and Governor DeWine’s office made a powerful impact and showed that the voices of Ohio consumers cannot be ignored. Thank you for stepping up in this critical moment. The American Kratom Association is grateful to Governor DeWine and the Board of Pharmacy for now taking a more thoughtful approach to kratom regulation. This provides the opportunity to work with state leaders on a balanced, science-based policy that: Schedules 7-OH and other manipulated synthetics that pose a serious risk to consumers. Ensures kratom products in Ohio are properly labeled, safely manufactured, and restricted to adults. Preserves consumer access to natural kratom, which has been safely used in the U.S. for decades. This is a positive step forward, but our work is not over. The AKA will continue to engage directly with the Governor’s office, the Board of Pharmacy, and Ohio lawmakers to make sure consumer protections are implemented without criminalizing responsible kratom consumers. You can read more in our official press release here: Full Statement Thank you again for your advocacy. Together, we are protecting the rights of kratom consumers in Ohio and across the nation. |
